Dental Emergencies
Accidents happen. The sudden nature of accidents make it so that we will never when and where they will happen. That doesn't mean we can't be prepared. Here are some steps on what to do in case some of the situations below happen. Tooth (or teeth) gets knocked-out. The first thing to do is to immediately recover the knocked-out tooth. Make sure to hold it by the crown and not the root (the part that goes inside the gums) and rinse it with water. Prevent removal of any of the tissue fragments attached to the tooth since you're going to try and put the tooth back in place if that's still possible. If you do consider putting it back, make sure you put it back like how it was before it got knocked off. DON'T force it in, it could make the situation worse. Put the tooth inside a glass of water with a pinch of table salt if it can be put back. Milk would be even better if you have some then visit the dentist immediately. Rinse you mouth with warm water and make sure to save every piece of teeth that you find. Appy cold compress on the outside of the mouth to prevent swelling. Afterwards, apply pressure on the target area with a moist piece of cloth or gauze for 15 minutes and go to a dentist.
